Located in the eclectic neighborhood of Edgewater on the corner of Glenlake and Broadway, we’re your local frozen custard and sweet shop. Walk over and step back to a simpler time, where your biggest worry is whether or not you can eat your ice cream cone before it melts.
Treat yourself to an assortment of gourmet chocolate or build new memories with our large assortment of retro candy! We even have a full espresso bar featuring Chicago’s own Metropolis Coffee!

Hours & Locations
Main Shop — Edgewater: Our Broadway location is open every day, noon – 10pm & our Western location every weekend, Saturday – Sunday 1pm – 8pm.
Weekend Shop: Our cozy second location is open Saturdays & Sundays only. Smaller shop, same big flavor. Both are walk-in — come on in and find your favorite custard, candy, cookies, retro sodas and treats.
Yes, we do! We have seating at both locations, indoors and out. A long bench welcomes you at our Broadway store, and you can enjoy your cone at the small counter on Western. We also have some benches out front of both locations to sit and savor your scoop.
Nope — both locations are walk-in shops. Step right in! Smell the waffle cones, check out all the candy and local baked goods, and order at the counter.
Custards & Treats
Three magic words: egg yolks, baby.
By law, ice cream has to be at least 10% butterfat. Frozen custard is at least 10% butterfat too — but we add egg yolks to make it extra rich, smooth, and creamy.
We also churn it slow with less air, so it’s dense, velvety, and melts like a dream on your tongue instead of in the bowl.
So while we love our ice cream cousins… frozen custard reigns supreme!

We run a rotating featured flavor alongside our classics. Each one gets its own featured concrete that you will ultimately crave.

The whole soda shop lineup: cones & cups, sundaes piled high, banana splits, malts, and shakes. Tons of toppings to dress ‘em up. And that’s just the custard! We also feature local baked cookies and cupcakes, chocolates, endless candy and retro sodas!
Bakery, Chocolates and Candy
A whole shop full! We’ve got locally baked cookies and cupcakes delivered fresh daily. Plus a case of handmade chocolates: almond bark, cordials, truffles, haystacks, and more.
The candy wall is the real McCoy. We stock:
Old-fashioned favorites — candy bars, wax bottles, candy buttons, old-timey gum, taffy, and novelty candy galore.
New novelty candy too — all your favorite characters, anime to Saturday morning! Plus, whatever else is hip with the kids.
If it’s sweet and makes you say “I remember these!” we’ve probably got it by the pound.
You dream it, we blend it. Crushed candy bars, gummies, sprinkles, cookie pieces — we are game.
Our retro soda cooler is stocked floor to ceiling. Classic root beers, orange, lemon-lime, grape, cream soda… and the weird ones. Mustard soda? Yep. We dare ya. Perfect with a concrete or a bag of candy.
Kids & Families
The bee’s knees for families. Walk in, grab a custard, cookie, cupcake, candy… It’s a neighborhood joint and we love our littlest customers. Strollers fit fine — just no indoor seating.

Pints & quarts of custard: yes. And we’ll bag up candy, cookies, chocolates, and sodas to-go all day. Great for parties, movie nights, or emergency sugar rations.
We use dairy, eggs, and nuts in-house for custard, chocolates, and toppings. Lots of candy contains allergens too.Tell our crew and we’ll help you navigate. We can’t guarantee zero cross-contact, but we’re careful as can be.
